Introducing The VIORA LID

Introducing The VIORA LID

Intro_VioraLid

Like you, we’re passionate about our coffee and tea. Yet, we felt frustrated that conventional lids compromised our experience when we ordered a drink to go. So, we designed a lid you’ll love drinking from—a lid worthy of what’s in your cup.

The Viora Lid drinks like a cup, unlocks flavor, and eliminates annoying splashes. With a Viora Lid, the lid fades away, and you experience the familiar comfort of an open mug on your lips and the full flavor of your carefully-crafted beverage.

Drinks Like A Ceramic Cup

Drinking from the Viora Lid feels comfortable and natural. You’ll feel like you’re in a café even when you’re on the go. Tip your cup, and a drink well fills. Sip your beverage over a lip—just as you would if you were drinking from a ceramic cup. Enjoy even a piping hot drink without worry.

Taste is mostly smell, and the innovative drink well on the Viora Lid ensures a complete taste experience.

Catches A Splash

Relax. With the Viora lid, you can carry your hot coffee or tea worry-free. Conventional lids—when jostled—shoot out jets of liquid aimed for your clothes or dashboard. The Viora Lid reduces splashes in the first place, and, even if your drink does splash, it ends up back in the cup rather than on you.

The Viora Lid & Green Plastics

    April 22, 2014

The Viora Lid is made out of high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) – a recyclable material widely used in the food packaging industry. The vast majority of hot cup lids today are made out of HIPS. Still, we occasionally get asked why the Viora Lid is not made from a compostable plastic. Here are our thoughts on “green” plastics…

About

About

We are not rocket scientists. Rocket science does nothing to improve the taste of your coffee.

Our company grew out of our passion for great coffee and tea.

We grew up in Seattle, immersed in the city’s coffee and food culture. Long before the term “third wave coffee” existed, we were on a quest for great beans and quality brewing. On weekends we sought out roasters and crafted coffee at home. Work days, we sought out barristas downtown who were making coffee with passion and precision. Yet, when we ordered a coffee to go, we were painfully aware that putting a lid on our drink greatly diminished our much-anticipated experience. This realization led us to begin experimenting to design a better way to take our coffee on-the-go.

Our conviction that there was a better way unleashed a scientific curiosity and a maniacal focus and led to years of researching fluid dynamics, evaluating mainstream and alternative plastics, reading research papers on smell and taste, assessing advanced manufacturing technologies, prototyping, and conducting round after round of testing. The result of all this work is the Viora Lid – and a growing collection of patents and patents pending.

After all these years focused on designing a superior lid, we are now manufacturing that lid in the U.S.A. Finally, anyone who is passionate about their coffee or tea can enjoy their beverage when they’re on-the-go—just as we dreamed about so many years ago. The Viora Lid is truly a lid worthy of what’s in your cup.
